Everyone is voting for McCain where I live except for me. There are no Obama/Biden signs anywhere in North Georgia. I’ve got to be very careful about my political beliefs here.  Luckily, I grew up in a great school system and I am  little more informed. I (early!!!) voted for Obama and I believe rightfully so.  I don’t think anyone actually thinks that race is a factor but it really is. It makes me very angry and very sad to hear people (if you can call ignorant rednecks people) talk about how they don’t care who is president as long as it’s not a black guy. It’s scary!!   I didn’t only vote for Obama because he’s black. I voted for him because he’s right! Something’s gotta give! We (the general public) are suffering!  I’m a fucking bartender and I can’t even find a job within an hour of my home!  What the fuck!? My father was in Vietnam and my brother was in Fallujah and Iraq and is resigning and hoping to go to Afghanistan.  My father is old school back-country and will never vote for a black man but my brother is an Independent.  If Ron Paul was actually involved with this election I think Brett and I would both vote for him.  Bob Barr, though?  Yeah right! My husband has been up my ass about not voting in McCain because he’s a war veteran and has experience. I simply asked him “Did you enjoy the stimulus check we got last year?”  Of course, he said yes and started talking about wanting another one and I said, ” Well then, welcome to the Democratic party. Without them, you and I would be totally fucked on our mortgage payment.” We don’t talk politics anymore and he’s not even registered to vote so I totally see it as a win on all fronts!
